Gaetano’s Brick Oven

Meet the man behind your favorite Gaetano’s creations! Chef Guy was born and raised in Alaska. He attended culinary school in Portland before moving to Salt Lake City where he worked as Kitchen Manager at a local restaurant. In 2000 he moved back to his home state and worked at a variety of local restaurants including Orso, The Bridge, and Platinum Jacks. He barbacked at Pioneer Bar on and off for 4 years before making the jump to Ginger. He was hired on as sautee cook, and within 5 months progressed to executive chef. In 2010 he was nominated for a James Beard Award – Best Chef – Pacific Northwest. After seven years at Ginger, he moved on to partner on the opening of Fat Ptarmigan. After leaving Fat Ptarmigan, Guy ventured out on his own and started Gaetano’s, focusing on fresh ingredients and handcrafted brick oven pizza.
